John Joseph Bosco Jr. brings more than three decades of experience in libraries, education, and public service to his work as an author. Over a 35-year career, he served as Head of Reference and Director of several public libraries on Long Island, New York, dedicating his professional life to making knowledge accessible, meaningful, and engaging for all. His academic foundation includes degrees in English and Library Science, which deeply inform his thoughtful and structured approach to storytelling.

The author’s creative inspiration has been shaped in part by Matthew Soffler, his tutoring student and illustrator. Soffler is neurodiverse and resides on Long Island with his family, where he is currently taking courses in cartooning, computer graphics design, and voice-over, with the goal of pursuing a career in computer art; he has authored more than a dozen self-published children’s books on Amazon, including “The Pizza Invaders”. Along with Soffler, Rosemary Bosco, the author’s wife and a former elementary school teacher, was instrumental in editing and brainstorming the ideas, text, and overall development of the story.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, John is now retired and continues to give back by tutoring English as a Second Language to immigrants and native learners alike. He has lived in Levittown, New York for over four decades and has been married to his wife, Rosemary Bosco, for more than 50 years. A proud father of two daughters and grandfather of three, John’s life and work are grounded in family, service, and a lasting belief in the power of education.
